Miscellaneous Athletic Recruiting Ramblings - 6/7/2008Thank You
I just wanted to start out these ramblings by saying thank you for visiting the site.  As I have said many times before, there is no possible way that this site could continue to grow over time without readers like yourself paying visits to the sites daily and signing up for our free email updates.  Yes, this is a sappy way to start out the ramblings but I felt that you deserved a thank you for visiting the site!

Five Articles to Read
For those that did not get a chance to visit everyday this week, here are links to five articles that I would recommend checking out.
Football Recruiting Questionnaires: How important are they and should I fill them out?
I’m a senior to be with basketball recruiting interest. What do I do?
Football camp invites, calls, and Division I interest
The Athletic Recruiting Process: What is it and how do I make it out alive?
Recruiting Highlight Tapes, Coaches, and Lies

Transition to a New Design
While it was a long night and day putting the finishing pieces together on a new site design, I am really happy with how they ended up turning out.  There were definitely some struggles along the way but at this point, the email/RSS subscribers have already grown.  If you have not already, please consider signing up for our free email updates.  (Since this was the second time I mentioned it already, I will stop).

International Football Recruiting?
ESPN has an interesting article about European players hoping to get a chance to play college football in the US.  It is never easy to find players across the Ocean but North Carolina State and a number of other schools have done it.  Could it become like International basketball players in college hoops?  Probably not, but interesting article regardless.

Early Football Signing Period
It seems that there are more and more coaches and people interested in having an early Signing Period.  While some want it in the summer, it appears as if it may be more realistic to have it during November or December.  That gives the committed athletes a chance to get it over.  As I have mentioned, I am all for a summer football signing period.  While there are always going to be recruits who want out, it should be a good thing overall.

Have anything you want to see?
As I always ask, if there are any specific articles that you would be interested in reading, please let me know.  I would be happy to at least consider writing a feature article on what you want to learn more about.
